Spring Wishlist ft. Warby Parker

As someone who doesn’t wear glasses, I’ve seen Warby Parker around the blogosphere but never really bothered to check them out more. When they got in touch with me to help spread the word about their spring collection, I thought right away nope! I don’t wear glasses, so why would I suggest them to my readers?

But then I saw the collection! They almost make me wish I did wear glasses, because they are just so pretty! There’s so many styles, and they’re all so lovely and whimsical. So, here’s some things from around the web that are on my wishlist for spring, including some pretty frames! What are you lusting after for spring?

First up- this adorable swimsuit from Modcloth! I need a new suit pretty badly, mine is two years old. Plus, this one is super cute!!

94bd90658e97072fed375090c06d72f5

I know everyone’s obsessed with the Gwen Stefani x Urban Decay collection, and I’m no different! I gotta get my hands on this blush palette, the colors look gorgeous.

If I did wear eyeglasses, it would be super hard for me to choose between these peach Finch glasses and the red Maraschino frames! So cute.

I’m also a huge fan of rompers, and with spring (hopefully) not far away, I need this pretty cutout Forever21 one to add to my collection I think! Those bell sleeves are perfection.

Last but not least, this makeup bag from Breakups to Makeup is just the cutest! And so true too haha, I usually take way too long to choose a lip color in the morning.

There are what I’m loving lately! Hopefully I’ll be able to treat myself to one or two of them 😉 If you’d like to check out the rest of the Warby Parker collection besides the ones I included, you can click here! January Favorites

As January comes to a close, I was looking around to see what I’d like to share with you this month. Surprisingly it’s all makeup products! Usually I have a bit of a mix for you, but I guess this month is an oddball. Read on to see which products I’ve been loving!

janfaves1

First up is my personal alternative to foundation: the Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer. (Quite the mouthful!) I’ve definitely been reaching more and more for organic formulas lately, I just feel they’re so much better for you! This product provides lightweight coverage and evens out my skintone without me wearing a full face of makeup. Get it here!

janfaves4

Eyebrows are the most important part of the face to me, and I never leave the house without mine done. I always used pencil, but I discovered this sculpting brow mascara and haven’t looked back. It really holds my eyebrows in place all day, and the color it adds is great! The one complaint I have is that it can be a bit difficult to remove without makeup remover. Find it here.

Also, the Tarte Gifted Mascara!! I raved about this in my review the other day. Let’s just say that I’m in love! Pick it up here.

janfaves3

Last but not least, this face lotion that I received in my January Ipsy bag. It’s another organic product that I’m really liking lately! It’s incredibly moisturizing, with both argan and olive oils. You can find it here if you like! It’s been so awesome that I want to check out more from the brand, and I will probably repurchase when this sample runs out.

My New Year’s Resolutions

Hey guys!

As my last post of 2015, I want to share with you my New Year’s resolutions. But first, I want to thank you.

Thank you to every single person who has taken the time to visit my blog, comment on a post, leave a like, or subscribe. Thank you for the sweet comments and for helping me out via Twitter when I struggle with WordPress. Thank you for the inspiration from your blogs, and thank you so much for letting me be part of this amazing blogging community. I’ve only been blogging for 9 months, and it’s my favorite thing. So a big thank you to each and every one of you!

So, without further ado, here are my resolutions for 2016 🙂

HALDEN

Step out of my comfort zone. Say yes! I’m making a rule for myself to say yes to one new experience a week in 2016. People grow due to their experiences, and I’m always excited to try new things. But, I don’t want to stretch myself too thin, so I’ll pick and choose my priorities more carefully as well.

Grow my blog. I love being creative and interacting with all of you in my little online space, and I can’t wait to make my content even better and grow my readership. Side note: I also plan to rewrite those embarrassing first posts haha!

Improve my photography. I love taking pictures, and I want to get myself some new equipment and really see what I can do this next year. There’s always something to learn!

Let go of my need to always be right. I believe that to be happy, we need to not stress the small stuff. Learning to go with the flow sometimes could help me relax more 🙂

Spend less time online. I spend a ton of time online, either blogging, doing homework, or endlessly scrolling through social media. I need to unplug a little more and do more real-life projects!

And of course, travel more! I have a couple really exciting adventures coming up in the new year, and I can’t wait to share them with you all 🙂

What are your resolutions for the New Year? I’d love to hear about the exciting things you’ll all be doing. Let me know in the comments, and as always, thanks for stopping by 🙂

November Favorites

It’s finally Friday! And November is drawing to a close, which means it’s time for me to share with you what I’ve been loving this month. Take a peek!

novfaves1

First up are these amazing stickers! The great people at CaseApp and StickerApp offered to send me these fun stickers with the name of my blog! I was so excited when these came in the mail I nearly peed myself!! (just kidding haha!) But I’m seriously super pumped about these, they’re made of an awesome sturdy vinyl. I’m just not sure what to do with them, though…any suggestions?

novfaves2

My younger sister gave me these cute little candies that she found at a candy shop-they’re absinthe flavored, and I think the packaging is simply adorable! I’d never seen them before, but I think they’d make a great stocking stuffer! They come in tons of flavors. Find them here!

novfaves6

Next up: my new favorite pants! I’d show you them on, but I don’t want to ruin the #OOTD that is to come! I really love the Southwest inspired print, and they’re even high-waisted. They’re out of stock now sadly 😦

novfaves5

Last but not least, Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow in Bad To The Bronze! I’m so obsessed. So. Obsessed. It lives up to its 24 hour lasting claim, it”s creamy, it’s super pigmented, and just overall amazing! I’m going to collect all the colors haha. It’s definitely worth the $8! One of my top ever drugstore buys, for sure.

So there you have it! What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

October Favorites

Hey there! I hope you all had a great Halloween. I dressed up as a flapper, and if I say so myself I think it turned out amazing! Check out my Instagram for photos! What did you dress up as this year, or did you do something else fun?

Anyway, I have some products I’ve been loving this month that I can’t wait to share with you! Scroll down to see!

octfaves1

I love statement items during fall, like this phone case and this chunky necklace from Forever21. This phone case is actually something I designed as part of a collaboration and giveaway with CaseApp. If you’re interested, pop on over and read about it, or join the giveaway here! I’m giving away a $40 coupon to design your own custom phone or computer case.

octfaves2

It’s so important to stay hydrated as the weather gets colder, and these two products are my most used currently! This Burt’s Bees chapstick in Mango is delicious smelling, and the Jersey Shore Sun lip conditioner with Vanilla Coconut Cream is just divine! Both keep my lips hydrated all day. The Jersey Shore Sun product is my favorite though, because it’s all organic!

octfaves3

Speaking of hydration, I’m sure everyone’s hair is needing some love right now as the temperatures change. This Organix Argan Oil hair mask is doing wonders for mine! It claims to be an intense moisturizing treatment, and I would say that’s very accurate! Using this once a week is keeping my hair soft and healthy.

octfaves4
octfaves5

I love red for fall, especially lips and nails! This Forever21 polish in Sangria is the perfect shade! You get what you pay for with Forever21, but I find this lasts a surprisingly long time.

September Favorites

sepfaves1

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week started off right. Today I want to share with you what I’ve been loving this month! It’s been an insanely busy month so far, but I’ve still found time for a few fun things!
septfaves3

septfaves2

First up: my latest favorite book! The Rise and Fall of the Gallivanters by M. J. Beaufrand is set in the 80s in Portland, Oregon. It follows a punk band and its lead singer, Noah, through the ups and downs of life. It’s a gritty, emotional, and amazingly descriptive story that will make you cry and want to shave your hair into a mohawk! You can grab a copy here.

septfaves4

Next up is something that had been on my wishlist forever: the Instax Fujifilm mini polaroid camera! It’s so cute, and I haven’t had trouble making the photos turn out great so far! It’s definitely my favorite of my favorites this month 🙂 To see how it does, check out my Instagram! I’m always looking for new bloggers to follow 🙂 You can pick yourself up one of these by clicking here!

septfaves5

I’ve also been loving nude and light pink lip colors lately; as sassy and bold that perfect dark fall lip is, it takes a lot of effort in the morning! I love these colors because they still provide a fun look, but are much easier to just swipe on. My 3 favorites are Milani Color Statement in Dulce Carmelo, Wet n Wild MegaLast in Dark Pink Frost, and Trestique Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude. (See the Nantucket Nude Shade reviewed here!)
septfaves6
septfaves7

From left to right: Milani, Wet N Wild, Trestique
septfaves8

I love this marsala leather jacket for fall! Its burgundy tones complement my wardrobe perfectly, and it really puts me in a fall mood! It was a great budget purchase too, at just $28 from Forever21. You can see it featured in an OOTD here! It’s no longer available in this wine color, but you can pick it up in black or beige, and the best part is that it’s currently on sale for just $21! Grab one here.

I hope everyone’s been having a good month! Tomorrow I start my second year of college. I’m so glad to finally be back on campus, but I’m not quite ready to start actually going to class again…waking up at 6:30 is not my favorite thing in the world, I’m pretty much the opposite of a morning person. Anyway, here’s what I’ve been loving this month!

 augfaves2

First up, pretty stationery! I’m the kind of person that would be totally lost without a good planner. This one is from Staples and has both a monthly and daily view. I also have this adorable world map notebook! Pretty stationery is one of my favorite vices. You can find this planner here!

 augfaves3

My current makeup obsession is baked eyeshadows. I picked these up from Sally Beauty supply for just $1 each just to test them out. Of course, they’re not the best quality, but I’ve really loving the great neutral metallic shades, and they do well worn wet with a primer underneath. I’ve been loving this BellaPierre lipstick as well! I received it in a previous Ipsy bag, but didn’t get around to testing it until recently. It’s extremely pigmented, and I’m really loving wearing it this summer. You can find it here for $19.99!

augfaves4

These boots. I could wax poetic about how much I love these boots for hours. They’re the perfect height, have an awesome chunky heel, and go without absolutely everything! Stay tuned for an outfit featuring them soon! I can’t wait to wear them when the weather gets a bit colder. I found them at Forever21, and though they aren’t available in black anymore, you can grab them in maroon or cognac here!

July Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a productive month! It feels great to be back into the regular rhythm of blogging after being away for a month ( you can read more about my Spain adventures here!). I’m excited to share with you what I’ve been loving this July!

july1

july3
great lash mascara

First up- a classic loved by many beauty bloggers, the Maybelline GreatLash Mascara. This is a mascara that I’ve just recently discovered, and I have to say, this is my favorite drugstore mascara yet! It lasts a surprisingly long time, has minimal clumping, and doesn’t irritate my eyes like a lot of other cheap mascaras do. Find it here!

smashbox primer from ipsy

This Smashbox Photo Finish primer was sent to me as a sample in one of my recent Ipsy bags, and I just love it! It makes everything on top of it look 5x betetr and smoother. I’m considering purchasing the full-size version next time I want to splurge. It is a bit pricey though, at $36 for a 1 oz. container! Find it here.

tarte amazonian clay bronzer

This is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer, also sent to me in an Ipsy bag! I’d had my eye on this for a while, so I was incredibly excited to get it! It applies incredibly smoothly and blends very well into the skin, with just the right amount of subtle shimmer. It’s also waterproof, which makes it perfect for the beach this summer! The fun faux-alligator print packaging is a plus too! You can purchase it here.

july4

The last favorite item I want to share with you is the new layout of Color Me Kiki! I felt that the blog was due for a sleeker new upgrade, and I’m in love with the way it turned out!! I think this layout really reflects my goals of where I want to take the blog in the future, and I have now upgraded my WordPress account to self-hosting, which gives me a whole world of new options that I’m incredibly excited to explore with you! 🙂

What do you think? Have you used any of these products? How do you like the new layout? Let me know in the comments, and as always, thanks for stopping by! 🙂

May Favorites

June is finally here! The promise of regular sunshine is so close I can almost taste it…I can’t wait til it heats up enough for me to sit on a beach somewhere with a good book, my swimsuit, and a cold glass of lemonade in my hand! I’ve got summertime on the brain, and so it make sense that my favorites for May are on the sunny side.

june2

I’m planning a few beach days for this summer, and good reads are an essential! I picked up this copy of Kurt Vonnegut’s Breakfast of Champions at a local bookstore’s sale the other day for just a dollar! Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors, and I’m looking forward to rereading this classic soon! You can find it here.

Victoria’s Secret was having one of their semi-annual sales the other day, and I grabbed this amazing longline lace bralette. It’s the perfect summer layering piece for under cutout tees and loose dresses! I can’t wait to show you it in a beach OOTD! You can find a similar one here.
june5

What’s a beach day without a great bronzer? I’m new to using bronzers, and so I found this one at my local drugstore for just $4! I picked it up in the shade Ticket To Brazil, and I’ve found it to be an amazing product so far! It isn’t too shimmery and adds just the right amount of color to my skin. It is available in 2 other shades, and I highly recommend it if you’re a bronzer novice like me. Find it here!

I’ve written before about my love for Milani lipsticks, and I decided to test out some of Milani’s other products. I grabbed this eyeshadow in the shade Belle Champagne. It’s a lovely shimmery peachy color, although it is a little sheer, but for light everyday wear it’s perfect! I’ve had better results when applying it wet as far as pigmentation goes. Pick one up here.

june3

june4 june6

I grabbed these cute little travel sized brushes on sale at the amazing TJ Maxx! I have yet to test them fully, but they seem lovely so far. They’re so soft on the skin, I can’t wait to test them!

What’s In My May Ipsy Bag

Happy Friday, everyone! Today I’m excited to share with you the contents of my May Ipsy Glam Bag! If you’re not familiar with Ipsy, it’s a monthly subscription service that for just $10 sends you a cute little makeup bag full of all kinds of beauty and hair product samples! This is my first month receiving one, and I can’t wait to show you what’s inside!! 🙂

ipsymay1

When you subscribe to Ipsy, you fill out a short survey telling their team what kinds of brands you’d prefer, what category of products you want to test out, what your hair and skin tones are, and other things that help them make the bag customizable to you! They send the samples in an adorable little bag too!

ipsymay2

First up is this Texture and Volume Spray from Oscar Blandi. I was excited because this product actually came in a full-size can! It promises to give you that “instant undone texture”, and has a great citrusy scent. I can’t wait to test this out for those perfect tousled beach waves this summer! Get it here.

ipsymay3

This Cailyn Extreme Matte Tint in Pure Lust is an amazing product. You paint the tint on, and once it dries, it stays for hours! The color is great too, although I feel like it would be even better in a bold red shade. I almost want to pick up another one, but if I were to buy it individually, it would be $19-pretty steep if you ask me! Find it here.

ipsymay4This next sample is a new one to me! I’ve been thinking about it but have never purchased a toner before. I really like how Ipsy sends you all types of beauty products! This is the Dermatologica Clear Start All Over Toner. I’m excited to test it out! It’s supposed to give you a more even skin tone and reduce any redness or breakouts you may be having. Pick one up here!ipsymay5

This is the Thirsty Cleanse GlamGlow Mud to Foam daily cleanser. You use it as a face scrub, and it lifts dirt and oils right off your skin! I have dry skin, so I’m not too sure about this. It may end up being too harsh on my skin, but I can’t wait to test it out and see! Trying out and playing around with new products is always so much fun 🙂 You can grab the full sized version of this  here!

ipsymay6

ipsymay7

Lastly but not least- my favorite of my Ipsy samples- the Nude Dude eyeshadow single! This mini shadow has the cutest vintage-styled packaging, is creamy and well-pigmented, and has just the right amount of sparkle! I received the shade Flirty, and it’s a slightly mauve nude shade with just a hint of gold to it. I can’t wait to wear it!! You can find the whole palette here.

Swatch of Pure Lust Matte Lip Tint and Nude Dude Shadow in Flirty

I’m so glad I signed up for Ipsy! For only $10, you’re getting samples of some amazing (and expensive!) products, and the lip tint and volume spray and in their full size form! You really can’t go wrong in my opinion-it’s a beauty addict’s dream, high-end makeup at a fraction of the price! And that pouch is too cute 🙂
